Reading K-12 English Curriculum

February 19th, 2011 by admin

At the end of the week I am going to be completing a review for one of the local homeschooling companies. They are asking me to go through their k-12 english curriculum and see what I think before they offer it to the families. I’m pretty happy that they even asked me to be a part of this. I have been one of their strongest supporters since they opened the doors several years ago. I am sure it will be great.

Remembering the Classic Arcade Games

September 16th, 2010 by admin

I remember the classic arcade games that were located in various stores and establishments. I used to play the pinball machines while my mother would bowl with her league on Tuesday evenings. I could make three quarters last for the entire three hours that she was busy. I also remember the local convenient store that put in the Pac-Man game in the 80′s. These arcade games are almost non-existent as people became more involved in the Internet. Nowadays, online games have replaced the old time coin operated games of yesteryear. I do enjoy the online games but there was a bit of character that went along with the big old machines at the mall.

Awesome Fair With Bouncy Castle

September 4th, 2010 by admin

For the end of the fifth grade year, our school usually has a small outing day with a school run fair.  We have all sorts of free booths with face painting, food, prize games, and more.  One of the favorites, every year, at the fifth grade fair, is the bouncy castle.  The Bouncy Castle Hire is easy, as is the set up.  The little amount of effort it takes is very small compared to the amount of enjoyment the children get from using it. The fair is one of the most talked about things for the children all year long leading up to it!

Rap Culture & Hip Hop

August 27th, 2010 by admin

There’s generally two styles of rap music. Scripted or recited styles that have no authority of one subject or another, the other is free styling which is the customization of lyrics of old songs or the likes. In many cases you will find two rappers in a sort of battle of lyrics. They may even insult each other along the way, commenting on each other’s clothes, styles and other flaws.Throughout the history of hip hop, there’s always been new influences that create different styles and sounds. Styles such as ‘gangsta rap’, ‘rapcore’ and ‘hip house’ are just a couple.Although originally popular in the Usa, hip hop and download loops is now listened to in countries all around the world and increases in popularity every year.
