I had planned on taking a vacation.  So, a few months after receiving my retirement benefits, I went on a Cruise from Fort Lauderdale in March.  Although I had no companion when I took that trip, somehow I felt I was not alone.  For how could  I when I had so much fun, more so when I befriended someone of my age whom I met at the bar while I had a few rounds of beer.  Together, we dined, took drinks, and had spas.  Certainly, the pleasant memories I got from cruising will be with me, even in my final resting place.  The travel was infinitely fantastic!

The substantial decrease in the number of student enrollees had compelled the school to terminate the services of the non-permanent teachers. Since my wife was still on a contract basis, she was one of those who got laid off. She really felt bad being laid off, because she loved her work very much. But, there was nothing she could do about it since the school could no longer afford to compensate her. Fortunately though, her work was not our bread and butter. Knowing my wife was emotionally distressed, I took her on the Auckland Spring Break Cruise. While on board the ship, I did my best helping her cope up her frustration. It was successful for she was able to forget the worries of our home life. She was very grateful I took her on this trip for it was exactly what she needed. We had a wonderful voyage!

Manchester is close to some of the most beautiful homes in the country. These stately and manor houses are brimming with history and stories. Some of the houses have been used as filming locations for some brilliant period dramas and films. One of the most famous of these has to be Lyme Hall and Park, where the much loved BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice was filmed. You can wander around the grounds here to see the infamous lake where the famous Colin Firth lake scene was filmed! With plenty of Manchester hotels found nearby many of these homes, it’s easy to explore these historic homes. 

I was getting bored of my life.  I wanted to go to the place of no return hoping it will put an end to the bitterness engulfing my being.   However, when my best friend invited me to go cruising, all the pains and heartaches seemed to vanish into the wind.  Why?  Because while on board the ship, I met someone who was the epitome of sweetness and kindness.  During the entire journey, she made me feel special- I felt like a king then!   More so, the trip gave me a new perspective in life.  It made me a new man.  I was overjoyed that  I took a Cruise from Perth in February.  What I am now, I owe this to my best friend and the trip!
