Texting can be a hearing aid for deaf people

Getting to grips with how to text has been a brilliant way for me to communicate with my friends. I have been deaf since birth and using a mobile phone in the most conventional way is completely useless. However being able to text my friends has more than made up for this as there is no communication barrier at all. It is more relevant for new friends who perhaps find it difficult to speak to me, even when we are together if there is ever any doubt they can just type what they want to say on their phone and show me and visa versa!
