How does a third grader go about dealing with panic attacks?

March 9th, 2010 by admin

At the ripe age of 8, I began experiencing panic attacks.  I was bullied at school and no matter how hard I tried, some of the stressors in my life simply couldn’t be prevented.  School bullying wasn’t a prevalent topic and people in the small community where I lived refused to admit that some of the precious own could be guilty of such.  And, my parent’s divorce, and my mother’s subsequent remarriage were definitely issues that I not only had no control over but were the types of lifetime skills that I would need to learn how to handle.  So, for me dealing with panic attacks was a matter of maturing, learning what I had control over and then learning to take meet my individual needs.
