Help your child get potty trained

July 22nd, 2010 by admin

Many parents make mistakes while attempting to get their child potty trained. One of the biggest mistakes is not understanding that the process will take a while to be complete. While your child can learn to use the toilet in a day or two, accidents are likely for at least a few weeks.

Another mistake is trying teach the child to use the potty during stressful times. Many parents decide to try right before or after the birth of a new sibling, to only have one in diapers. This is far too much stress for your child to have at one time and it’s better to just put up with the diapers and wait to get your child potty trained after things have calmed down.
