Travelogue: Impressed With Guesthouse in Southampton

March 9th, 2010 by admin

I’ve travelled a lot and the thing I’ve learnt over the years is that good service comes from simply caring about your guests.  As simple as that sounds, it’s not a contrived concern, but something natural and intrinsic.  I got this feeling from a guesthouse I stayed in during my business trip to Southampton (Keighley Guesthouse) – in fact it’s a great case study on how to run a guesthouse.  They make you feel welcome without being over-bearing, they let you know the nearest routes to public transport, restaurants, etc by foot or by car.  And a good choice of healthy breakfasts.  I also noticed that all the staff there had gone through fire safety training to ensure they meet all the health and safety regulatons – I found that very reassuring.
