Certification of Diamonds

July 25th, 2010 by admin

The average person probably has not had a whole lot of experience in purchasing diamonds.  So, how does a person know what to look for before splurging on such a purchase?  First, the person will need to ask to see the diamond’s certification.  Labs, such as the AGS or IGI, provide diamond certification services.  These certificates state the color, clarity, cut and carat of the diamond.  All of these factors influence what type of setting a stone will look nice in, as well as the price of the diamond itself. Certificates make it easier for the average person to make a decision on the right diamond to buy.
