Celebrities often do not get legal name changes, but rather they use stage names. This is great for them because so many have a name change or two in a year. That would be a lot of paper work to fill out. Many famous women do not change their last name when they get married either. This could affect their fan base because people would not be able to recognize their name as quickly. In some cases the name is legally changed, but they keep their original name and use it as a stage name. This way their fans can still look them up.
